Would recommend a visit here. Very obliging staff who allowed the parking overnight of campervans. The bar was well stocked and Covid regulations were well observed. The real ale was well kept and the dining room very full. Every conceivable whisky appeared to be behind the bar.

Had a very pleasant overnight stay at the Royal Hotel whilst touring the NC500 route.
On the day of arrival I had underestimated the time it would take to to get to the hotel and I was running late. The hotel receptionist contacted me to check whether I would require an evening meal – however my sat nav suggested I would not arrive in time for when the kitchen closed. The receptionist suggested they could make me a pizza and place it in my room, taking my order and said she would ensure it was in my room for when I arrived. I was very impressed with this level of service. On arrival at the hotel the pizza was in my room as promised, an italian style pizza which was still warm and very tasty.
The room was comfortable and the ensuite bathroom was huge and of a very good standard. Unfortunately not one of the sea view rooms but as I was only staying for one night this was not an issue. I spent the rest of the evening in the bar for a couple of drinks where perspex divider screens had been thoughtfully placed between tables to ensure the area was covid safe.
In the morning I enjoyed a full Scottish breakfast which was very good and the service in the dining room exceptional.
This was a perfect hotel to spend an evening whilst on a NC500 roadtrip.
Lovely surprise. We went here to eat after a day’s climb at Stac Pollaidh. What a find! The staff were super and the ambience very friendly. Do not be put off by the bland 80s (I think) exterior. Good selection of beers and superb range of whiskies. The food is outstanding for a bar, with an Italian theme. A great range of high quality pizzas and pasta. If you just want a simple and relaxed meal in a bar, rather than a restaurant, this is the best in Ullapool in our opinion
